Words — My Forever Companion

A poem

I haven’t written in a while,
Two months to be precise.
I am still figuring out why,
As life keeps throwing me curve balls.

But here I am amidst my lunch break,
Putting my thoughts in words.
Words never leave a writer,
It flows in unexpected ways.

Where have I been,
I do not know.
Solving the puzzle of life,
Leaves me exhausted with limited time.

But in that time, I use my journal, scraps of paper or tissues.
Anything that my eyes can find.
We write not only to document our paths,
But also, to relieve our chain of thoughts.

So here I am,
After a long time,
Writing on the blank canvas called a ‘document’,
It is rightly named,
As aren’t we all leaving our word trail?

Off I go steering to the wind of life,
Taking me in directions unknown.
Shifting my focus on the things that matter,
But words are forever imprinted in my mind and soul.

They never left,
They never will.
They will always be my forever companion.

Thanks so much for your time!
