Loss and Everything Else About It

It is our duty to be happy and in peace for the sake of our loved ones.

“Every one of us is losing something precious to us. Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back again. That’s part of what it means to be alive.”
― Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

It’s been more than two months since I have written anything. Writing for me is therapy, a form of soul expression. Sometimes when emotions are too overwhelming to share, a pen calls out to me, and emotions pour out on paper.

Why the sudden break?

I had to say goodbye to my father. My father fought through his pain like a warrior. He tried his best to come back to us, but ultimately the universe had another haven for him where he would be happy and in peace and we as a family cared for nothing more than his well-being.

Any form of loss doesn’t hit you immediately when it happens. At the time it happens you just cannot accept it for a while. Your brain somehow continues to function the way it does until there is a moment of peace and reality kicks in.

When my father left, my mind was running on overdrive. I was trying to find normalcy and ways to fill up the void by distracting myself. But no matter how far we try to run, grief will catch you at unexpected times and you have to accept how you feel.

Sometimes its better to say goodbye to someone you love wholeheartedly rather than see them in pain. Isn’t it funny how the same theory applies to any relationship? Any relationship that’s giving you any form of trauma, you must leave as you and your mind deserve peace. Your loved ones cannot see you in pain and finally you decide to move on.

When you see your loved one in pain, you wish from every nerve of your body that they find the relief they deserve. This taught me something so valuable that I had to share this with you.

Imagine the pain you go through when you see your loved one suffering. All you want is to see that person without pain and smiling. Thus, when you are in pain (in any form), what your loved ones go through is tremendous amounts of heart aching misery. They would do anything to see you happy and therefore, if not for you, for your loved ones it is your responsibility to stay happy and do away with anything that is pulling you down or causing mental stress.

Life has a funny way of teaching you survival skills. It will put you through situations where you feel you just cannot rise from. You feel someone is punching you in the gut and the pain is so much that you welcome death rather than life.

However, do remember that if life is putting you through the toughest phase of your life, it is also going to show you how to deal with it and survive. It will put you in front of people you need help from, it will give you minute directions that will help you figure a solution. It will help you navigate towards directions that were always meant for you to reach towards your intended destination.

Therefore, through my journey I hope you give life another chance. I hope you change your perspective about how you deal with situations that knock the living daylight out of you. Because no matter how tough life seems at this moment, always remember that we cannot stop the inevitable from happening. But we can grow through them, remember the good times and help soothe someone else’s pain. As whatever life teaches you it is not meant to be kept within. It is meant to be shared. Isn’t that what makes us human?

Thanks so much for your time!
